I know it's a personal preference usually, but here is the story.
Earlier this year I got a pair of white call hens I got from my dad, my grey drake had been chasing them around, and I found a nest of theirs with 3 eggs. I took them to the incubator and alas... they laid no more for me in their tub... All the ducks seemed to stop laying for over a couple weeks and I figured they were done for the spring.
Enter... the white call drake. About two weeks ago I got a nice white call drake that matches my hens superbly, and guess what... eggs started coming again, from various hens!
Yesterday the white hens had one in their tub ( okay, it's actually a tipped over big trash can, but they prefer it to the house! ) and I left it scared they'd stop laying if I took it, today there are two...
Do I wait for a week then take them all? Do I let them hatch them out? Do I take them but replace them with "fake eggs" ( I don't understand how this works but whatever, lol. )
What do you think?!
