Duck not wanting to be a mother?

So a little back story. My duck has been sitting on her nest for over a month now. Almost a week ago I found a duckling that hatched but it was under another egg in the nest and looked like the mother sat on the nest and the egg smushed the duckling that hatched. So ever since then I’ve been watching the nest. The same day I found the smushed one later on that day another duckling started to hatch but I brought this one inside and it’s doing amazing. It got lonely so I bought a duckling from the store while waiting for the other eggs to hatch. I went in the pen this morning and there was a hatched duckling on the other side of the pen, didn’t have any pluck marks or anything. It looks like as if someone moved it to the other side, it hatched, and it’s egg was next to it and so was the membrane but I found it to late. Could the duck not want to be a mom? What should I do about the rest of the eggs in the nest? I don’t Want to keep losing ducklings

Sometimes they make great broodies and then when hatch begins they freak out I had a Muscovy duck do this one year. She manage to kill one before I got there and had injured another but I was able to save that one. Only thing you can do is remove the eggs and put into a bator if you have one or sit out there and watch and wait. Maybe someone else has something better? This female of mine was an excellent mama the next year and I was ready to intervene again but didn't have to.

I have 3 females

I have 3 females in the pen but the two are sisters. One of the sisters is nesting and I feel bad taking her whole nest away from her that’s why we were trying to let her hatch them. But would I have a better out come bringing them inside? Because I check the pen 3 times a day so I’m upset I wasn’t on time for this duckling

I know it's heart breaking but you need to decide what is best in case more begin to hatch. Do you have a game camera you can set up inside to see who maybe doing this. May not even be this one duck if they are brooding side by side. Or is just one duck brooding and the other 2 are in with her?

Two of the females are sisters, sometimes the one will sit in the nest with her but for the most part it’s just her. The other female that isn’t a sister had a nest but a raccoon got in and took it. That was like a month ago so we got a better and safer pen. So I know no other animals can get in the pen. I don’t have a camera. Would the mother duck get upset with me taking her nest? Because my female that lost hers to a raccoon hasn’t laid eggs since

Could be too much interference from the other two Hens. Also first time mother's aren't always the best mothers once the eggs begin to hatch..Can you block off the nest so only she has access to it?..

i Think I might be able to. Thank you. would that make her be able to actually help the ducklings? I’m worried she didn’t hear the first one hatch and that’s why she smushed it

My females are always in their own space when they brood and hatch they do like their privacy.
