Duck only brooding in AM?

Today was 9:31 to 1:48. Lol. She laid another one , but i took it away. Did her same stunt. 4-5 in middle and 9 around perimeter clock

I used to duck hunt ALOT. And we could never figure out what was goin thru a duck’s mind, there was no set pattern ever. So we sent steel shot thru them whenever possible.

IDK why im trying to get in this ones head. I definitely luck killed the thousands I have innmy life

Breaking update. So far has sat for almost 12 hours. Off & on few times between. Currently playing with the others

Got a bit of update.. so i have been removing new egg daily. Whether thats from her or one of the others.. but anyway for about 2-3 days now shes been on for 12-16 hrs a day. She gets off by 6-7 in evening; but back on by 4-5 am. This girl is nutty. If i walk up to the nest she flares out, hisses, shows mouth, wont let me near. But few hours later she out duckin with her friends all nite.

Typical single mom; work all day then party hardy all nite

Final update. After all the on again off again I had a couple mising eggs in her clutch. Suspect teh muscovies got in there and ate them. Or the turtles crawled up.

Anyway cracked open the 3 oldest eggs. Gues what. Never form, no embryo, so the other 8 also got busted open and fed to chickens.

Shes just not momma ready yet!!
