Duck Owners.... read this article for happier ducks...... seriously.....

Or more like the meat industry finally giving birds the minimum requirements for living conditions.
I think most people on here already use waterers that allow a full head dunk. Even those who use nipple systems generally provide swimming or bathing water!

I'm not knocking it btw! It's a neat little system; just find it disgusting that this kind of thing is only now just filtering into the intensive duck farming industry.
It's like we went back to the dark ages and forgot all the animal husbandry lessons we've learned over a thousand years, and only now are starting to think about the implementation of basics!

And we call it genius and innovation; even though we had to get retarded in order to require these technological breakthroughs!

rant over :D

Monkey..... right on...... BUT.... I for one did not know ducks needed a head dunk to drink and do what every they do with the water.... I imagine there are thousands of folks who "dry land" raise duck right now.... this might get them thinking.... Well, maybe....

We stress it with every new duck owner who comes to BYC. Hopefully this article will help make others aware of the need ducks have with water for their health.

Sorry I didn't mean to knock you for posting the link; it's a good find!
My beef is with the intensive farming and the methodology that it uses.

I'm also glad it was helpful to you and hopefully others.
It's just the way the article comes across as if it's a massive step forward in the already wonderful world of mass production; whereas it should come across as berating the industry for taking it's merry time getting the basics right!

Oh God; I'm ranting again!
