Duck pond tips

Hi so my ducks have a pond for themselves but idk how to keep it clean. I just cleaned it and there was so much dirt and mosquitoes. Any tips on maintaining cleanliness? And besides fish, how can I keep the mosquitoes out?

Cleanliness and ducks don't really go together. No way to keep the pond clean that I can think of other than heavy duty filtration. I don't know what size pond you have.
Mosquitoes lay their eggs in stagnant water, so keeping the water moving (by filter or fountain) should keep them out.

My pond no more than 6 by 8 ft. It’s in the smaller side. I’ll just try to keep it moving more. I’m adding 2 more ducks to the group. Maybe plants will help ?

Ducks and clean do not go together. Unless you have a heavy duty filter system, it'll just continue to be dirty. With my ducks, I have a big bowl that I clean out ATLEAST once a day but most days it ends up getting cleaned three times. I feel if you put plants in, they would either get eaten or do nothing.

The ducks are likely to eat any plants. You might find a way to do it.
They do sell barley(?) straw bales (small ones) that are supposed to help with filtration.
I also saw a small disc like solar fountain for ponds and birth baths. Never tried one so not sure how well that would work for you to keep the water moving on the surface.

Oh that’s true. As long as they are safe, I guess keeping it clean isn’t as important. The filter will keep it going i guess.

For ammonia levels, look into a biofilter. It uses good bacteria and you don't have to worry about plants.
