Duck ponds

here is Steven and Michaels beautiful pond they made for lucky and Flynn.

I just got my 3 girls this week and Im
on my way to pick up a few runners or Pekins ,

I wanted something easy to clean and dump ,pallets are free so hubby made this , as soon as I open the door they’re at the pool door wanting to swim

I put bricks in for a step , they don’t use it to get out but rest on them sometimes

Some considerations: bigger is not better. The duck pond needs frequently changed water and if it's too big, it takes a lot of time and water to change it.

Drain hole: If you add a shower drain, with a valve to close it, then cleaning is much, much easier. Open the valve to empty the pond, then close and refill. 3" line works best as little sticks and rocks don't get stuck.

Do not use metal stock tanks. The zinc can cause metal poisoning. Use plastic ponds.

Exit: while healthy adults can easily exit from most ponds, you never know when a duck might be under the weather. Provide a ramp of some kind to make it easier for your duck to exit.
