sorry I've been away for a while.. WORK.... oy...
No plans except for, "Hey guys, I want it here, and I want it this big," and they did the rest. But they build ponds for a living so I knew it'd be great.
ONE PROBLEM: I'm in the algae bloom phase, and it is clear my mechanical filtration is not enough. I have to clean them pads out every day or every other day. I'm currently using extra pumps to move water through a 200 micron filter sock, but they only last 18-24 hours....
UV clarifier is coming in and I'm hoping to only need it while the water cycles, or in the summer when the sunlight is beating down on it. Nitrates in the pond are being held consistent at 19-30ppm so the biological filter is doing it's thing.
I also plan to plumb in a 30 gal drum with mechanical filtration that will feed a hydroponic system to grow lettuces and herbs. But the algae bloom is what's clogging my filters right now.
