Duck poop smell

My 3.5 month old call duck’s poop sometimes stink and I’ve been feeding him only Mazuri starter pellets. Can I switch him to a lower percentage of protein feed/seed and top it off with some niacin supplement? Will that eliminate some of the poop smell?

FYI the Mazuri starter feed my call duck is on has 20% protein in it.

Also I read online that too high protein can cause a duck to have smelly poop. Is this true?

20% protein is a good amount for ducks. I have not seen any research to support lowering the protein amount to off set the smell. Sorry, but keeping ducks means smells that are not always pleasant and messes.

Lowering the protein will not reduce the smell of their poop just as @Yardmom has said
It would be detrimental to their health
In my opinion, chicken poop smells far worse than duck poop
If you clean the brooder daily it’s not bad. I use puppy pee pads underneath some pine flakes and they’re very easy to roll up , put in trash bags and replace with fresh.
