What made you happy today?

Happy the ice maker in my fridge is fixed. It took a visit from Mr Appliance on Monday, then a visit from a plumber on Tuesday, another visit from the plumber today, and another visit from Mr Appliance today! 🤣 But it's finally fixed and we have way more water pressure coming out of the water dispenser than ever before. So, :wee
Congrats!

It was the percentage of/difference between two numbers on a soda ha one was 113 and one was 91. I had to Google how to find the percentage of difference between two numbers. :hide I’ve always found percentages hard. But any math really.
Percentages and fractions, horrible things

Made a copycat recipe of olive garden's zuppa toscana
https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/143069/super-delicious-zuppa-toscana/
Changes I made:
- no onion
- no bacon
- used hot instead of mild Italian sausage
- no red pepper flakes
- used kale instead of spinach
- added way more kale than called for. Added kale until it looked right and it was indeed the right amount
- topped with cheese after serving 'cause you know perfectly well when they ask if you want cheese at olive garden you're saying yes
- also cracked a bit of mixed peppercorns on top of the bowl 'cause why not
- also didn't measure the garlic. It's Italian food (or at least an americanized version of it if it isn't an actual Italian recipe, idk) so the amount of garlic needed is yes. I used the remainder of the bulb I had since it wasn't going to be good for much longer (I don't actually use garlic that often. A single bulb lasts me a few months....) which had 7 cloves left I think. I would use something like that if you're using fresh garlic and fresh garlic is best

Turned out perfectly! Every bit as delicious as olive garden's :D

No need for salt BTW, the sausage adds all the salt the soup needs even with the potatoes. I even cooked the sausage with the potatoes after browning it by mistake and used unsalted broth and I still found it just salty enough
In real Italian cooking, you add ingredients - especially seasonings - until the spirits of your ancestors whisper "Abbastanza!" (enough!)
:love

All my pullets (8 mo. old) are laying now, I think. Although a couple of these (the lighter ones) are probably from my PBE's. Still, love that blue!
