Duck problems!

I have lost 2 of my adult, female pekin ducks in app. 3 months time to the same problem . They suddenly, like overnight, look really dirty and lose feathers in their backside and tail area. Upon closer inspection there were tiny worms on their skin. Please help! I don't want to lose any more!

They look like maggots.

Probably, but why, which is why I asked where the maggots were found.

They were on her back above the tail and down into her tail. Her feathers were just gone in that area and she looked fine the day before.

Because in the title description it says on the tail, and backside - I am new to ducks but I have seen fly strike in rabbits
