Duck problems

My chickens like to scratch at their food which leaves a huge mess. My ducks bill is crooked so she needs the food to be deep to get her bill in. But the mess attracts flies and is just a lot of work. What should I do? I have so many questions.

Could you post a picture of your/their setup?

We have a fly trap and the empty container is what the duck eats out of cause of her bill. This is temporary tho. Soon they’ll move to our shed

If you greatly increase the amount of space they are able to roam, I can guarantee it will help alleviate the problems you're having.

The chickens are bored because they are lacking things to do, as a result, they are scratching, everywhere, and everything, providing them with more space and activities should help decrease this. Along with what I just mentioned, the pen is too small, and because of that they're feces/feed is concentrated heavily in a specific area attracting the flies.

Okay thanks, and would you recommend stone or Grass for them to eat and poop on. We’ve done both, and The food and poop kills the grass and the stones are hard to clean. What do you use as their ground?
