Can swim in general or on the pond?

In general they come out of the egg with the ability. On a pond full of snapping turtles I would wait till they are full grown.

I am not positive snapping turtles are in the pond.
they have a tiny pool that they swim in now I would just like to let them swim in the pond sometimes.

We have also had wild mallards in are pond and we have had ducks and geese hatch a nest on are pond and they never got eaten or any thing like that so does that mean my ducks will be ok.
