Duck Rescue Network...How to transport a duck

I have driven holding a duck- its flapping was NOT the problem. The problem was the sudden warm wet stuff on my leg!

No joke! I was thinking that was a very brave women to hold a "loaded" duck while driving. Hope home wasn't very far away.

On another note, the first thing I thought of when I saw that picture was Britney Spears getting in trouble for driving with her baby in her lap... lol

Although the picture looks funny, seriously the duck was secure and tucked behind the seatbelt and the seat and couldn't move or even come close to flapping. (i do actually have a brain, thanks, and would never risk killing anyone for an animals sake)

You cant tell from the photo but I do have both hands on the wheel and was able to drive just fine. I had better control of my car than half the idots I passed texting and talking on their cell phones or driving with loose roaming dogs in their car.

He did poop down the side of the seat though, par for the course.

I have to ask what about those people that drive around with their dogs lose in the car. They are just going out running errands, here she is RESCUING an animal and you are going to come down on her like this?

I agree! I have been fortunate to have met waterfowlrescue in person. She is well known and a hero to many.
If she is driving with a duck you can rest assured she knows what she is doing.
Personally I would love to see her posting more, as she is an expert in federal wildlife rehab and especially waterfowl. Turn on the news in Charlotte and you will likely see her being interviewd for her good works.

I need to move 16 ducks to a pond (private pond where they will be cared for) I planned to put them in boxes and take them all at one time-the trip is about 1/4 mile-1/2 mile.I think they will love the pond.

That's great, Priz!
I just rehomed 16 ducks recently. The funnest part was catching them to put them in the carriers!
