My existing chicken run is approximately 3 ft. tall and fully covered. While this is adequate for the chickens, sometimes it's a pain when I need to get in there for any reason.

So now I'm building a duck run. I have two different ideas I'm playing with. Fully covered (at least with fencing) is a must due to active coyotes and hawks in the area. (I see coyotes weekly, so they are definitely around on a regular basis). I think people access for the duck run needs to be easy for water changes and such.

Which would you choose and why? Or I'm totally open to other suggestions. Thanks for your feedback. The pictures are just some random internet pictures to help explain what's going on in my brain. I'm only asking about the run and the people access to the run. The coop/house part is pretty much already built.

Option 1:
short fence with hinged top that can flip open so a person can walk in
here are some random internet pics to illustrate the concept, you can see how you can just flip it open and a person could stand in the run.

Option 2
AFrame run that is taller for people or shorter AFrame that side opens for people access

I think the A-frame option is the easiest and practical . I know peeps made runs from trampoline frames. Problem???? may be the limited 3 foot height. It can be converted to higher , but with some effort.
WISHING YOU BEST.... :thumbsup
