Is there a thread for duck coop/run blueprints or just instructions and ideas? If so, could someone please provide the link.

If anyone has any blueprints or ideas with detailed pictures of their builds I would also love to see for some inspiration!

We only have two ducks, so nothing too big. Really, we need ideas for the run, the coop is taken care of by the shed but we would like something extending off of it. I was thinking just a basic cube enclosed in hardware mesh.

Your idea should work fine. There is a duck thread that has many helpful ppl that will be glad to help and show you their set up. My ducks are free range during day and locked in coop at night. There coop is a simple design made out of skids/pallets.

Roof or no roof? Should we pull it back halfway and add hardware cloth on the top so they get some sun? Or will the get enough from the sides? We would probably cut the fencing to make it flush with the shed door and have access through the gate, perhaps add boards so there are no gaps in the gate door, line the bottom with lattice work or hardware cloth so no heads get stuck, and surround with cinderblocks to deter digging of predators.

Thoughts?

P.S. We cannot dig ourselves to make a skirt in the ground to prevent digging of predators as we are renting the property. The ducks will be locked in the shed at night (or anytime we aren’t home really) and the shed is on a cement slab so we aren’t too concerned about things digging in.

Anything you come up with will be fine..Ducks are not picky, just messy...:frow

Absolutely true. My husband tells me all the time I worry too much! When it’s time to move we’re going to drop all furniture and supplies off with my Husband and the dogs the first day and then he will set up and prepare the duck coop and fish tank for me to come back the next day with them. It makes me so nervous not being there to help!!
