I just ordered 3 ducks. Mine will be sharing the run and yard with my chickens. For the ducks house, I'm building a lean-to 3x4 box that will cozy up to the side of my coop, but I understand lots of people's ducks just sleep at the bottom of their chicken coop. I'll just line the bottom and sides with vinyl flooring I have leftover. I'll hinge the top so I can sweep/hose it out.

I thought about retrofitting an extra large dog house. Just find one on FB or CL. But the run I have (a modified dog kennel) necessessitates a particular configuration. And I've got so much scrap wood laying around that it'll be practically free.

I'm starting to build next week. I'll probably make an article for hahas.

Haha - forgot to ask: what kinds of ducks???? I'm a lil duck crazy right now, so forgive me!

I’m not really sure. I’ve kept Perkins in the past, but also have had Silver Appleyard, and Welsh Harlequin. Out of the 3, I like the Pekin. @Corbdee has decided to hatch some ducklings and I might get some of his (might) but I’m not sure what breed/s he’ll be hatching. I’m not to picky, and I haven’t researched very far into which breed will suit me.

I didn't order Pekins this time. Maybe next spring. I got a Runner, a Welsh Harlequin, and a Swedish.
