I haven't colored any duck butts. What I did do was measure their pelvic space. I was able to get 3-4 fingers in between the pelvic bones of a couple ducks and with some of the ducks like the runners- barely 1 finger. So i assume they are not laying. An egg could not pass through that space! Lol.

Zoowee, thats what we do on the ducks to check for laying. A space of three fingers or more they are laying 2 or less they arent.

I was unsure if I could figure out what I was doing when I did it- but after a few ducks I was confident what I was feeling were pelvic bones.

I have 26 week old and 29 week old ducks not laying. My black pet quality runner is 29 weeks and not laying. Do some ducks just not lay or can it be normal to have some begin laying after 30 weeks? I don't know if there is even anything I can do? :|
