Duck-safe methods for algae control

a large kids wading pool is cheaper, sink it half way, I put bricks around the lip for support. Run a hose in it and refresh. Had it for over 7 years. Water is on a timer.
I have a wading pool also. Water is on a timer, refills twice a day and flushes for 7 minutes. Also, have a plastic mayo jar with holes with 1 chlorine tab that I have in the pool (I am in Florida and algae is very happy here.) The tab lasts a while because it gets covered in slit, but enough chlorine gets out to combat problems. Everything from doves to ducks enjoys it.
