Duck Suddenly Panting and Whimpering

She's doing ok today... she's eating well and drank a lot of water. (or splashed it out, like the duck she is) She still pants when I hold her, but I haven't been letting her swim, in case it's painful, just shallow water to wash off. She's still her chatty self when she's fenced around the other ducks. I currently have another duck housed in the same coop because she's recovering from abscess, and though they are separated with a long, tall board, I can sometimes hear them talking too.

I'm glad to hear that she is still fighting. I hope she makes significant improvement as she receives more doses of the meds.

Great news today! When I picked her up today, there was no panting! No huffing or anything! I'm getting high hopes about this one and she is now outside with the other ducks full of energy. I'll make sure to give her the wormer today, but I believe she might be cured!

Awesome news! :ya

All you did was give her dewormer, yes? Please finish the full 5 day course, that makes sure to get her completely clear... and I would go ahead and deworm the rest of the flock as well, before any others become overloaded...

How should I deworm all my flock? It is suppose to be oral, so should I put some in their water, or manually do it with a mouth syringe?

I recommend manually... that makes sure that each one gets full dose properly... it gives you certainty as well, in case another issue crops up within effective time period of the dewormer that you can rule out worms...

And I would also set up a regular deworming schedule, I do twice a year, like fall and spring...
