duck swallowed string

I'm quoting a post from the emergencies forum for a fellow member. I think this forum can provide additional advice.

My duck swallowd string! I need help soon! The vet is not a option because the roads are covered with snow. She's my favorite duck and I really want her to live! I need help as soon as possible. We have been giving her olive oil and she is acting completly normal!

Don't worry too much as long as she's acting normal. Watch for lethergy, not eating. Also make sure she has good grit and keep us posted. This may pass. Grit is essential.

As long as it was something small I really wouldn't worry about it. Now it it was something like 3 foot of paracord I might worry.

Sorry, I guess I didn't get a notification? She is doing great and is acting like nothing ever happened! So, I think she's be fine!
