Glad to meet you, Jenn and Jeremy. Those are terrific pictures, and very cute birds. I can see how they must be wonderful study aids (not). Best wishes with your studies, and with the birds! Looking forward to many more lovely pictures and stories.
I have had 2 shelties over the years, and love them muchly. I hope to hear about your 2 dogs as well! A husky/greyhound mix sounds interesting. I would love to see a picture.
Yeah, Sugar and Isabella get along really well. It is adorable. Sugar went camping with us and went tubing and canoeing that trip. She did fine. I am unsure if she did any swimming really on her own since Jeremy had her with him and I had Izzy, but most likely she did.Oh, thank you for the pictures! I don't think I would ever have pegged the heritage of your husky/greyhound mix. Aren't they a pair? The loving smile in your big dog's eyes, and the alert pixie of your sheltie - they look like they do really get along.
Will your sheltie swim? I have heard of some that love it, but mine never liked it. My first gave up following me on a trail ride when he had to cross a stream - and I know it broke his heart.
My second sheltie conceived an ambition to fetch sticks from water after watching a lab. He was so proud when he waded out to his ankles to gingerly pick a small stick out of the pond. He once was herding ducks back into the water so enthusiastically that he forgot the water was there. When it touched his belly, he stopped dead in panic - "oh, no, I'm in deep water, what now?" We had to talk him out of the water with calm voices. After that, belly deep was OK, but never farther, and only for purposes of keeping ducks in line.
