Hello. I need help. I have 3 Pekin ducks 1 male and 2 female. I have had them since May. This past week the one female has be attacked by the other 2 and actually caused bleeding. What do I do. She won’t defend herself at all.

You may have to seperate them untill breeding season is over. this time of year they are very hormonal

You could use cheap plastic garden fencing and wooden stakes

I have this problem more often with chickens but sometimes with ducks. I would try separating the Male from the two females. Put him in a little pet carrier with a small amount of food or water. You can also divide the living quarters but separation of the male out of visible sight is recommended. It may be a hierarchy/food issue. Allowing the two females to reset structure without the male would help with this. For me it has never taken longer than 5 days separation.

Only other situation I can think of is that the submissive female is sick. If this is the case it should be visibly noticable soon. Isolate your weak duck and tend to the wounds with warm water and vinegar. Use blu kote if you see infection on wounds. If the sickness is internal you can see a vet about it or look up some antibiotics and make a educated guess. I very rarely treat sick birds and when I do it is mainly external infections so I am not an expert on duck internal illnesses. Best of luck to you and I hope your duck feels better.

I'd place drake on one side females on the other. then watch for aggression. Hopefully both females will settle with out the drake in with them. Keeping them where they can still see each other should help the drake not be so stressed out. Put him in a dog crate for sleeping so he isn't able to get to either female. And keep a close eye on your female that hasn't been defending herself like @Chickengobbler says she may be sick.

This can be a hard time of year for ducks and drakes I looked out my window this morning and rated X movie was playing out. Thank goodness I have many females.
