Duck VS Chicken

This was my trouble maker after picking his second fight with the rooster.....both of them were out to kill each other and I'm sure one of them would have been if I hadn't been down there when I was. Pete made a full recovery but he was rehomed as he couldn't get along with anybody!

Way back when I was a kid (yes it was a long time ago.) I had a BIG RIR rooster and a muscovy drake who would spar frequently. The rooster would always initiate the unfavorable interactions. One day when no one was around they got into a real knock down drag out fight and the drake killed the rooster. From then on he had a vendetta for all chickens and had to be separated from them. Guess he finally had enough.

The only problem is, my hen's (duck) the issue. Or she's the one that got hurt. One of the drakes was there, but she was the one that was actually fighting back. Okay, scratch that. The rooster is the major issue, but I'm going on duck terms here.

I don't understand? She was giving her opinion just like you gave yours.....and IMO ducks are messier and smellier then chickens. But back on topic.

I have a question, can you have a silkie rooster and a runner duck drake together? The coop is about 13' X10' and I have an outdoor run 7'X14. And there will be females for both breeds. any thoughts? all my birds right now are friendly and my drake doesn't mind the chickens

It's possible but you would have to make sure the Drake doesn't decide to start breeding the hens. Also roos and drakes can sometimes have dominance issues toward each other than can cause some serious fighting

Yes it is. The username is named after my chicken, :Oreo, a barred plymoth rock, so i put them together, OreoPlymothRock
