My sister bought them. They were around $30 each, but she couldn't go pick them up in time for Christmas because they were five hours away, so my parents paid for the shipping which was around $45 I think.Woah! Did you buy yourself an adult pair? Or at least the two hens at the adult age?
So it was a joint present from both of my parents and my sister. If you find somewhere near you who has an Aviary and you can pick them up, Mandarins will only run around $50 a pair. Check craigslist, that's where my sister found mine.
It 100% will be. Hatching exotic duck eggs is super hard. They're way more fragile and sensitive to shipping. You would need to incubate them under a broody in most cases and even then the hatch rate would be poor....wondering if it’s Cheaper to go with that option
I pay for all of my animals/their feed/pens myself so I have a budget most times too.I have a very strict budget for that
I feed a lot of grain in the winter which helps a lot actually though.
