Duck with a broken or fractured femur

:idunnoOur pekin did this as well. He would actually wind up on his back because his legs weren’t strong enough. We increased his niacin with brewers yeast (grocery stores have it) and I also would give him a few drops of b complex daily. ( its water soluble so it won’t hurt them) most times with pekins it is a vitamin def because they’re bred to be meat ducks — they grow too big too fast for the legs to properly develop. You can look up the niacin defiency in ducks and see if it helps as well. Good luck with your feathered friend

Yes. She's right. I have a poult with the leg problem I spoke of in the thread I linked. Changing the diet and adding B complex for all the birds has made a big improvement. I got a bottle at tractor supply for $19.99 in the poultry medicine area.

back to my original thread...any other suggestions or people who have experienced a duck leg injury to upper portion - femur.

And as for the sav-a-chick water supplements, I've used and had luck with these. I even use it in adult bird water. View attachment 1443722
