My duck with bumble foot has finally healed over the scab, but his food pad is still big, should I put him back in the yard or keep his foot wrapped a bit longer? I can give any details needed

Bumblefoot occurs when there is injury to bottom of foot, like a small cut/puncture. Bacteria enters, and causes havoc. I think keeping foot still covered with gauze, but allowed to be outdoors should help the foot heal over completely. Change gauze to keep foot clean daily, as necessary. When swelling is no longer present,,, then foot pad should be healed to walk normally, without concern for re-infection.
