Hello. I have some runner ducks, they are about a month old. There is one that has a bit of crooked neck, I first noticed it about 2 weeks ago. I don't think its wry neck as I have seen and corrected before. The duck in question is very healthy, the others don't shun it, seems to get around just fine. I'm thinking it may be some sort of birth defect? I don't recall seeing it before, but they are so squirrely, there are 7 and they like each other more than they like me. The eat like pigs right now, they are growning fast. I feed them scrambled eggs with brewers yeast mixed in, mixed veggies, 20% protein food, watermelon, rice. Anyone have any thoughts?

Necks can be tough. Lol

They can hatch with wry neck which in some cases can be fixed with splinting and vitamins (as it can be caused from a vitamin deficiency or from being cramped in the eggs a funny way). But severe cases you usually cannot correct.

If it wasn't like this at hatch, then it could be wry neck that developed as a result of vitamin deficiency, or as a result of an injury.

Either way, it is suggested not to use them for breeding as it shows they are weaker (in a sense) than hatch mates and it could be a weakness that they pass on to offspring when used in a breeding program

Actually I had one like that too..My Old Duck lady friend calls it twisted neck and it happens when they come out of the egg...Mine died because it strangled..It was like its head was on backwards..Most cases they can correct themselves as they gain their strength ...Congrats it survived....
