It might even be okay to give 1/2 a tablet twice a day, but do what your gut tells you.

We treat cats and dogs at work and use SMZ-TMP for them so I hope it would be ok. I'm gonna continue the flushing of her eye and start the SMZ because I did smell it today. I have her in the garage because I'm worried about maggots. That is the only thing about my job I can't do... maggots. *gag*

One thing my horse vet said to me was "eye problems, call a vet", not because she wanted money, but it's because they can lose the eye very quickly. I don't want to scare you, but if there is any way that you could have vet look at her I think that would be best. If there are no scratches or foreign bodies they could prescribe drops with steroids and give you whatever else she might need.

Try moving her away from the other ducks? Maybe they are the reason?? Take her to a vet??? IDK I dont have ducks...just wanted to help #chickenperson

It is also used in birds... have seen many posts here on BYC about vets prescribing it.

I'm a vet tech, but limited on exotics. I have her in the garage in a medium dog crate. I will take a video of her later.

I was waiting to video her but the dog was distracting her and I just put her in there with food and water.

So I got a video, but it is taking forever and a day to upload to my facebook page. I made the video public but it's Grace getting her bath. She really isn't graceful, she pulls muscles, trips over sticks, got stuck in the deer netting several months ago, etc. She got her eye flushed out, spinach in her bath water, eye ointment and her antibiotics. Then she went right into the dog crate on her own, drank from the bowl, but still hasn't eaten crumbles and scratch from the bowl....
