I have 7 1/2 year silver Welsh harlequin female duck that about 3 months ago some of my chickens were picking on her(Sparrow) because she was broody and staying in their nesting spot. they really beat up her bill and one flipper. Her wounds are healed now. Because she was getting picked on so much and injured. I moved her to the duck house by herself and ended up giving her some duck eggs, but they didn’t hatch so I gave her chicken eggs and she hatched out 2 baby chicks (Oct 30th). The chicks are about eight weeks old now, and I have started introducing Sparrow and the chicks back into the flock about a week ago. This morning, I went out and let all the birds out to forage while I did chores and I noticed the Sparrow’s eye didn’t look right…. I picked her up to get better look and noticed that her eye looks sunken in and her eye mostly shut. She keeps shaking her head and standing in one place a lot. any idea what’s wrong? @Miss Lydia @casportpony @DuckLady @oldhenlikesdogs @Lacy Duckwing @TwoCrows @Nifty-Chicken

Keeping her eye shut
The area circled in the picture below has been kind of sunken in the last few weeks
This is as far as she has it open today
