Hey guys,

I was surveying my new flock when I noticed one of the hens has a lot of lose skin hanging down from her belly. Kinda how a mother dog looks when she has been nursing. She "seems" to be in good weight, not skinny. None of my other ducks seem to have have this. What's going on. Is it a "spare tire"? Is it a sign that she has been laying eggs? Do I need to put more weight on her??? I was just curious.

I caught her and felt it. It just feels like really loose skin...very soft...because she is very soft

I have named her speckles...sure wish I could up load pics...I might draw a picture of how it looks if that would help.

So, any clues???

I just don't currently have a way to take pictures...it just looks like a flap of skin(covered in feathers) running along her belly from under her chest to her butt...it is probably about 3 inch wide, 7 inch long I'd guess. It almost drags on the ground a little bit. It isn't a growth, just loose skin. I don't know, I guess it could be from weight loss.

...let me see if I can get my old cell phone charged up its been awhile since I used it but it does have a camera.

look up some show quality Rouens. Does it look like that? I have a Rouen that has a smaller flap hanging down. it is totally normal for some breeds.
