Duck with white around eyes

Yes that is pretty much what they look like, are they cataracts?

No, that duckling hatched like that... best I could figure out was it was a trouble hatching and bacteria contaminated the incubator... I had a couple in that batch at the end that hatched like that, with some antibiotics I got 1 to clear completely and 2 others partially...

Is it fully within the pupil area or above it in the lens area?

Ok so I took some photos but the eye/s didn't really show up-I was trying to hold her whilst my mum took a photo-and she's useless with technology lol. Not the tamest of ducks so couldn't really get anything where you could see it-took about 10 but none of them much good and stressed her out too much to keep trying. All there is to see is blue pupils anyway-pretty much like your photo and just the pupil nowhere else on the eye. Vets tomorrow so we'll see what happens. Thanks for all the replies, can't believe there is not more info on the web about this, your experience is very interesting! Sounds like the same sort of thing.

Update-ok so I took her to the vet and there is nothing to worry about. The blue is just a normal sign of ageing, it's called "nuclear sclerosis" and causes this blue appearance of the eyes in older pets-very common in older dogs (not much info about ducks online) not much info anyway since it's a normal hardening of the lense in middle/old age and there is no treatment. It doesn't cause significant sight loss or problems most of the time. Very relieved, she is my oldest duck so had never seen this before. I thought she couldn't see so well and panicked seeing her eyes but she can still see-she don't let me catch her easily anyway so can't be much wrong!
