Duckbane!

I heard the girls quacking up a storm a little bit ago, so I went to see if there was a problem. Sure enough I see poor Estelle with this thing attached to her foot:


I was rather direct when I explained to the turtle just how bad an idea it was to try to eat my friends. Once it understood that it's only choices were to let go or die, Estelle made her escape while I scooped Duckbane out of the water and into a cage for later disposal. I don't think little Estelle is going to be running any marathons for a while, but it could have been much worse.

Turtle soup OR release to a new non-duck area!

It's not turtle season here until July, so it's going to be released somewhere far from any ducks (or at least any ducks I know of).
