Ducking has something wrong with beak

Thank you all! Talked to my vet she thinks it is bone also. She gave me some stuff and said to keep an eye on it. Since his mouth doesn't form correctly she is not sure if he will live long. But we will try our best.

Thanks for the update! Hope he heals right up!

Ducks are amazing creatures and can heal from some horrendous attacks, And some can adapt to handicaps so don't give up on this lil one..

@Jcartmell you might find this info interesting.

Welcome!

When greeting new members I usually say, I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Even though they were not helping me, I just want to acknowledge all the ‘Duck folks’ that came to your assistance and showed just how true the above statement is!

Anyways, I do hope that your little one gives a good fight and beats the odds!

When I called the company to tell them what was wrong with him they said they would take him back and I refused. I told them that if he's not going to make it he's at least going to have a good few days or if he lives I'm not going to have him live in a box. He's so cute. They offered me another one even though I am keeping Dobbie (the ducklings name). I hope he makes it.

Hows the lil one eating? You might try making the feed soupy so he can drink it then make sure he washes his faces real well after. In the link I gave you there is a pic of a homemade waterer perfect for ducklings where they can keep their faces clean but can't get in and drown.

I am glad you are not sending him back . We're all pulling for him here.
