Ducking neck problem?

Update on our runner duck...I was able to help her stretch her neck almost all the way out in the warm bath today and when she was bathing she had it almost all stretched out under the water trying to get watermelon. She still keeps it down most of the time but I'll keep trying the warm bath and compress to help. She's only eating a little bit but alittle is better than nothing...we have a friend coming to make sure she has food and water since we are out of town until Saturday night I hope she's ok in the cage u top then. I put our 1 month old runner ducks cage by hers so they can see each other. She got about 2 hours outside with friends and I actually saw her lay down so hopefully she's getting rest. Her eggs have stopped but I think that's normal after some trauma? We have 4 ducks and the two runners r inside now and on Sunday I have to bring a third in to treat bumblefoot...do you guys think I should just keep all four inside so there's not just one left out or put the one with the soar neck back out with her? Not sure what to do. Sorry so long thanks for all the help!

The one with bumble and the one with the sore neck could be kept together for stress relief and company for each other. Great to hear she is doing better!

That's a good idea! And put the one month old out with the other one?

Have they been introduced at all you don’t want to leave and have the 1 month old picked on. Maybe just leave the one with bumble out with the other adult and let sore neck and 1 month old stay side by side is that easy to do?

Yea that'd be pretty easy to do...they've all been together outside the last new days getting to know each other too:)

Has anyone tried those duck shoes ? She could maybe just wear those while she's healing...

What are you feeding? I hate to sound like a broken record but all Water fowl babies need niacin and if they are being fed chick starter they are probably not getting enough and this could be a niacin deficiency it can show up with head tilt leg lameness etc. possibly the duckling hurt itself too but getting them on niacin can really help them over come some of the issues duckling can have even from hatch.
There are a few different forms you can think about "Plain" niacin tabs or capsules with out time release or flush free those don't work for water fowl 125-150 mgs to a gal of water mixed well all of these need to be used till 10 weeks of age they are slowing down in their growth rate by then.

Nutritional yeast 1 Tab per cup of feed
Brewers yeast same as Nutritional yeast for dose

Or B Complex liquid which is best if one is already showing symptoms of a problem. TSC carries one in the cattle section says injectable but we give it orally to our birds over dried meal worms or smashed peas just enough treat to get them to eat the snack all up. from TSC 1ml per duckling daily or Walmart or other store that sells vitamins the human B complex which would be 1 teaspoon daily this seems to work the fastest when already having a problem @CayugaJana has used it with her ducklings. They certainly are adorable duckling full of personality :welcome
