Duckling attacked by ants during hatching - please help!

Poor little baby dux! What a rough way to start out life.

Yes how’s the yolk sac is it gone in all the way? Aww I hope having a warm buddy helps.

She got very lively and happy looking about an hour ago and I thought that she was going to make it. The yolk sac had absorbed even more but still a small bit left. About 20 minutes ago the other duckling began to peep noisily and the she had stopped breathing

Thanks everyone for your support and helpful advice. I guess it just wasn't meant to be for that little one. So peculiar that it had that burst of energy before it died. So fascinating that the other duckling knew so soon after it had died.

The other duckling is now back out with Mum. She eagerly scooped the duckling back underneath her with its siblings.

It's nice that its last minutes were spent with a fluffy buddy. In its short time on earth it knew love. (including yours) After all, isn't that what we all want.
