We just checked on our week old Muscovy ducklings and a black snake had one all wrapped up. My husband got it loose, and the baby had a hole in its side. How can I help it? Will it make it? Should I keep it inside or put it back with Mom and siblings? It wasn't moving as fast as the others, and it is terrified. Please help!!

Do you have a picture of said snake? There is more than one kind of black snake ;)

Assuming you are referring to an eastern rat snake, western rat snake, black racer, any of the indigo species, or any other colubrid, boa, or python the only concern is internal damage but given that it was still alive when you found it it would have only been a few seconds since it was wrapped up. And the bite shouldn’t be an issue as snakes in general have surprisingly small teeth as well as having an anticoagulant in their saliva making the risk of infection extremely unlikely

I'm trying to add a pic but it won't let me. 😭 I've tried 3 times.
Here is how you can upload pictures
