I have Muscovy ducks, two drakes and I just got 4 ducklings in hopes of adding some females
The ducklings are about 3-4 weeks old.
Our set up is like this- we have the chicken coop and a large fence that surrounds it.
Yesterday we built what I call a "duck box"
Just for somewhere for them to hang out if they wish.
For the time being I moved the babies outside into the duck box and wrapped a fence around (it's inside the main coop/fence area) it so they larger ones can't get to them.
It is quite warm here and they seem to love being outside more than in the garage.

I woke up this morning and went to check on them and somehow it looks like one of the drakes or both has gotten a few nibbles in as two of my ducklings has feathers missing on two spots on their backs and it's all red.

Now of course I feel HORRIBLE!

Will they be okay?
They seem fine otherwise, still moving around and do not seem injured in any other way.

I'd add something the drakes can't stick their heads through to get to the ducklings if your sure it was the drakes and not some other type of predator. Of course if it had been the ducklings would have probably been gone or eaten. Your females are going to have to live side by side with your drakes at least till 4.5 months old or around laying age. But my Muscovy's don't usually start mating and laying till spring after they hatch. which is around 8-9 months old.

More than likely they will recover just make sure they aren't in direct sun with bare spots.

Odis modify the fence so the drakes couldn't get to them and so they are mostly inside the box, with very little room in the sunshine. I'm going to shut them in the box totally at night. Rather just trusting they will go in under shelter themselves.
Won't make this mistake again. Poor babies!
Thank you!

I'm not sure of the sex of the ducklings- I'm hoping for females... I can't seem to find any locally that are sexed.
Do you happen to know of a decent place to order from that isn't overly expensive?
I'm located in central pa.

Thanks Miss Lydia!
I am still taking orders for muscovy ducklings for next months hatchings. But do not sell just females. If there are enough ducklings I can do trios (1 male with 2 females) but typically sell unsexed ducklings
