Duckling born early with yolk sac not absorbed

Hi! I am here to tell you that it isn't a death sentence! Put the chick in a cup (like a tea cup) lined with moist paper towels (to keep the yolk from sticking to the container). The yolk will absorb.
If it doesn't absorb before breaking open, please don't get upset! The next move is to treat the wound. Basically, just remember that the yolk is not a body part. It is the food for the first few days. If the yolk ruptures, the chick will need food and water right away rather than in a few days.
Hi can I ask how long they normally take to absorb once in the tea cup

Anybody know if the yolk sac will absorb over the next little while? Or is he doomed? He was having a hard time hatching so I had to help him out but now it looks like he wasn't ready for hatching yet.

I just got into the same problem and I'm frightened any advice to save it it's not moving don't know if it's breathing and alive I cracked it to early

Why did you assist? okay place the duckling in a cup or small bowl with a soft paper towel or wash cloth under it and leave it in the bator hopefully it will absorb but it will take a while if it is alive. Be sure when you pick it up not to touch the sac and add bacteria to it. When you pick it up you should be able to tell if it's alive.
