When I was bringing in my ducklings today from outside one of the ducklings decided to panic and flailled and dropped onto the ground. After it happened it seemed to not be able to use his left leg. I am pretty certain he broke it as he is not using it at all.

I have him separated right now from everyone else but am at a loss for how to help him even though I have searched quickly for some answers. I am certain I need to splint it against his body as I think the injury is at the hip.

I am going to increase his niacin to help with healing and bone growth. He has stopped crying now so he at least has to be simi-comfortable at the moment in his towel. I know he will be pretty sad being separated from everyone else but I just want him to be ok and be able to walk and do all his normal duckling things again.

Aww poor baby.. I think @casportpony knows how to splint and what would be best.

maybe once you get him taken care of let another more calm duckling stay with him it will a lot less stressful for it's recovery .

Which bone is broken?

I have the exact same problem with a guinea keet, except for mine didn’t fall, the mother attacked it.
I don’t know what to do, it’s not eating/drinking. It’s been lying down all day struggling to move. Any ideas @casportpony
