I just got my shipment of ducks this morning. They are drinking fine and eating starter crumbles. There is one little girl that is bobbing her head and now foaming......I think she is choking. I tried massaging her neck and showed her where the water is again. She goes back and forth from the light to the water, still bobbing and foaming. What can I do to help her?

She has most likely gorged herself after the long journey. Drinking more water may help to dislodge any food stuck- but it will also make the food she has already eaten swell. She may be in some discomfort and the head bobbing is to get the food down. She will be ok in time if this is all that was wrong- but just watch how much more she eats and drinks in the next hour or so.

My adult runners still bob their heads as they choke down things that are a little too large - so far, so good. I try to manage their environment, but they get ahold of things sometimes. Good you are paying such close attention!
