As long as they can't somehow get their whole bodies in and not be able to get back out, you're good. I'd be more worried that they'll grow too fast and not be able to put their heads in! They just grow too fast.

I don't know if you still need ideas for a waterer when they outgrow that, but I'll warn you now: do not use a chick waterer! My four 3 wk. olds spilled 1+ gallons of water every day when I used it. It's terribly messy, and because of that, it needs to be refilled often. I replaced their the chick waterer with a 4 quart feed pan with a piece of clean wood floating in the middle, and, although it isn't perfect, I will never go back.
You're pretty funny yourself. You always bring a smile to my face.

Good idea! The worrier that I am, I'd be afraid that they'd climb in the bowl and not be able to get back out. But that's just me being paranoid about my ducklings. How long does it take them to outgrow it?

First excursion outdoors!

BANTI - I am in love with your 'lings. They are so so cute. We have webs and faces and one of the 'ling child burds is nibbling at the other 'lings feets. Reminds of of @Tevyes Dad 's Casey when she was a 'ling.

These are my girls at 8 weeks old! 1 Pekin, 2 Cayuga and 2 SUPPOSED to be Blue Swedish, but I think they are either splash or Black.

Thank you, I am too. They are SO sweet. When I come into the room, they get up and run to the front of the brooder. Sometimes I will have them sit next to me while I am working on something or cruising BYC, and they want to sit on my lap, not beside it!

Yes, I picked them up March 9th! They look like adults! I have never seen anything grow like they did!

Yea, those aren't blue Swedish. Sorry that you got blacks but they all are so cute! Are they from Ideal?

That is so preshis that your burds wanna sit on your lap while you are on the computer. Make sure you tell them they are famous 'lings and that there are people out there that love them.

OMGosh they are so extremely cute. Black and white precious beings all clustered. Oh, my. More ducks for me to want to kiss.
