Duckling Diaries: the Life and Times of a Welshie Trio

And you wonder why the VWN is not big enough for the both of us!!!

My Pileated Woodpecker is on my suet chunk right now..Ticks me off, I told him last week he coult not eat here if he continues to waste so much. He is currently knocking off pieces of suet and throwing them on the ground.
Oh, I know why. Isn't hard to figure out. You can't stand my innocence and purity, so you have to stay down there... Must be hard being such a rotten dux hater. :hugs

the one of it trying to eat your birds

thats awesome! we are looking at a house that used to belong to my husbands great-great grandmother
otherwise all my familys stuff was sold off by money hungry relatives, we had a big piece of land in maine on frenchmans bay, it was a peninsula
only thing left is a headstone and some roads and things named after them

When I bought this place from my brothers (well, bought them out) We decided to remodel and live in the old house. It was started in the 1890's. Was moved here from across the road around 1904. The barn was on this side the road, (it burned down 15 years ago, I really miss it and the silos)..

When I remodeled ( I did all the work myself) I took the house down to a shell and redid everything. We found it had been added onto at least 6 times. There were 4 spots that fires had started from either chimneys or poor wiring. I have about 20 jacks in the basement to level the house. We walk around them down there. They make the basement unsuitable for anything but storage and egg incubation.......

lol, its amazing what we put houses through, my mom's house was built in 1840ish and lived through the fire of 1850 then another fire in 1960, her house is 2 houses that were combined and one of them was moved by oxen in the late 1890s, its pretty cool looking at all the historical stuff
when we remodeled parts we found old newspaper clippings, change and a whale-bone corset in the walls
her house was also a coffin shop and embalmers shop, it was always fun to go play in the back yard and find coffin parts :lau

I'm glad coffin parts were the only parts you found.

Oh my goodness Banty ! That looks like a little slice of heaven! I would move there in a heartbeat if it weren't for the snow. Snow is beautiful but not my favorite thing to be out in and I like to be outside all the time. Beautiful beautiful pics! Yes I can see compared to that I am a citiot!

I love snow. There are no black flies in snow. Snow covers up the dog poop in the run.... Snow keeps spiders at bay.

It's nice... I want more land, eventually, with a bit less neighbours, but this is really good for how much I paid for it. Yeh, see why we're teasing you? :p

Yep. I sure do! Lol. Ya we would love to sell out and move somewhere off the grid. But we are not getting any younger and starting all over at this point would be hard. I kinda like only driving 30 seconds to work. Too young to retire too old to start over. So we just keep building privacy fence and planting trees!
