I own the road I'm on too. Gov't still ploughs it for me, though, so I'll put up with having a neighbour drive on it occasionally if it saves me 36428 weeks of shovelling time every winter.

Time slows down by several years in the middle of March, when everyone is sick of snow. Everybody curses the weathermen 'cos all they predict is two more feet coming.

Makes complete sense to me. I hate cold, snow, ice, etc. Do the kiddos enjoy it or do they tire of it as well?

I like it, but when it's mid-April and you get another foot dumped on you, even the most die-hard snow lover grumbles. Kids don't care, they could build snow forts year round and be happy if only summer didn't get in the way. If it goes below -15 or so for too long, they complain because it hurts their face. Other than that, they love it.

I did love it for a while when I was a kid, but that was primarily because they'd call off school if we got much snow.

Here, snow days are only called if nobody can get out their door cos of the snow.

Happens more often than you might think... And a large portion of peeps here homeschool, so snow days don't happen.

Only way I could survive there is if I had the ability to hibernate and living half my life asleep doesn't sound appealing.

My kids are homeschooled (er... which is what I should be doing right now.) They have to take the entire months of August & September off because it gets unbearably hot here. Like, eat cold cereal for bfast, lunch AND dinner, hot... Like 95* inside your house, hot...
