Any tips with coyotes? Is it common for them to be out & hungry during the day. My ducks will have a barn and a gated area but im worried.

i put wolf urine around my property to deter bear, might work for coyotes
or those light things, but you have to move them around every few days

DID you know that in my state they are trying to extend coyote hunting times, and there are people that are AGAINST it??
SERIOUSLY!!! Shoot them all!!

How did you get the wolves to pee in the bottle for you? I want some of that if it works..

i had someone else do it for me then mail it to me, supposedly there are no wolves in NH, but it did seem to keep things away

i had a bear take out my coop 2x,
i put up solar xmas lights at wolf eye level and marked my turf with their pee and havent seen it since
i will do it again this spring when they first start waking up
i worry more about the bear than the coyotes, i havent seen coyotes in my yard since i got my horse

The problem we have here, in regards to shooting predators, is the Metro are


We have about 5 million people in the state.

Of that 3.5 million live in the Metro area and control the laws of the state. All they know about wolves and Coyotes or any other predator is what they see on PBS and other liberal media that depicts them as innocent victims.


They then push to protect the innocent predators from us evil farmers.

I have an idea that might help. Form a group of farmers, mountain men, recluses and national park squatters and call it SCRAPS (Sensible Coyote Reeducation As Predator Scum). Then organize a walk (you would probably need help from Wisconsin with this) Where people on the outskirts of the states get bells and noise makers and make a whole bunch of ruckus while walking inward toward MSP. After a couple miles they hand off the bells/fire crackers/etc to the next group and go home and the next group walks inward (repeat as necessary). This would herd all the state's coyotes inward toward MSP. Once you get within about 5 miles of MSP city limits, you erect a 6' chain link fence around the entire combined metro area. That should hold the coyotes in long enough for them to realize that dumpsters are a better source of food than farms (why eat a bird when you can have Taco Belle?). After a couple weeks or so, you could reclaim the fence as the coyotes would be happy with their new lot in life. If this doesn't work out well enough, you will probably get the metro-dwellers to vote with you on coyote eradication legislation.
