Duckling Diaries: the Life and Times of a Welshie Trio

I'm feeling your pain... Dux or not you are smitten by her...and your Mommy genes are clouding your decision...

As much as I dislike dux, I have to say no rush to put them down. They will all die someday, so take your time before making that choice...

It is kind of final when you do, It is like stepping on a platter, once you do there is no way to fix it.
Well said Ralphie.

I totally understand. I don't either and I have not physically met her but I've come to love and care for her thru you.
I'm mad more than anything. Why did this have to happen, after she was just starting to enjoy life again??? Why??

I mean, I know why, I know life isn't fair and all that.... But it's just wrong.

Thanks, Ralphie. Much appreciated. :hugs

I'm not going to rush and do anything... I'm gonna spend a bit today just sitting near her. See how she's really doing. I already know, but maybe looking again will show something I didn't see before.... I dunno, I need a miracle for her at this point.

No Disdain?? Not even a little bit of bile in the back of your throat?
You're such a goose.

I'm still not convinced keeping her alive is kind. Her appetite has dropped. :(

Trying to keep her comfy.... She's in a small pen to limit movement as in the dog crate she was thrashing and hurting herself.

I completely understand Banty. We put our pekin down a month ago and it was the hardest decision I've made since he still ate and drank and had some spunk but in talking to the vet she felt keeping him alive was not in his best interest. There was little hope of improvement without serious intervention. She also reminded us that he was in a lot of pain even if he wasn't showing it like we thought he should. Remember that quality of life is a huge part and not just what we want for them because we are attached If there really hasn't been improvement or even a feeling of calcification around the break it is unlikely it is healing. I know it's a hard decision to make especially when you have dedicated so much to help her heal but at the end of the day is she really living life/will she ever be well enough to live her life fully. I hope something in this helps. :hugs

I thought so too,,Very insightful how I notice Mommy genes and how they interfere with a rational thought process like a man has 100% of the time....

Making men the superior race over women..:caf:pop:oops:
Rational? Rational??
I didn't think men even knew how to spell that word.

Thank you. :hugs

:hit:hit:hit:hit:hitim soo soooooo sorry to hear she's not getting better. So unfair life is. Its hard enough when your pet has had a long good life but still sucks. When its cut short because of some stupid little accident its just heartbreaking. We are all behind you whatever you decide. Your the only one who knows what's best for her.

Yes you are right. Us women have to be totally irrational to ever put up with the likes of men. You are all lucky we have that mommy brain or there's a lot of men out there we would "put down" after all women bring life into the world why can't we take it out? Sounds rational to me!!!!:lau:hmm
