Well definitely needs to be said that it possibly won't work.
I look at all situations with realistic expectations. And if suffering is happening then let them go. My opinion..

you want to clean the wound, then apply Neosporin. Apply Neosporin to it vent too (the inside out thing), then very gently try to push it back in.

I suspect the inside out thing is because your duckling is not drinking enough water. Try mixing some warm water with it's food (make a soupy mash) and this might help.
