Duckling hatch along

I wad surprised, too! I was going to put her in broody prison, but she seemed so happy with her little group of fake eggs that she collected, LOL. I was worried about how cold it is outside though, so that's why I moved her to a broody box inside my house :love ...plus then she will stop stealing eggs from the other girls.
In your house?! Do you have any other ducks? I would love to see pics of the babies when they hatch!

In your house?!
I know... maybe a little crazy but she has a nice quiet spot and it's not freezing like it is outside. I take her outside to play with her friends once a day. She runs around, dust bathes, eats, drinks, scratches and yells at the other girls to tell them she's NOT TO BE MESSED WITH :lau I think she will be quite a fierce "momma duck".

We have an old fat Pekin and a blue runner duck. Neither of them are very motherly and they just kind of do duck things around the property haha.

I plan on putting updates of the eggs and (hopefully) babies on my thread "IT HAPPENED!" It's where I posted my first chicken egg and it kind of progressed into a chat thread of everyone's first eggs and just daily shenanigans... would love you to join in with your duckies, too!

Ok, I would love to! Three of the eggs just hatched! They are sooooo cute! But are super wet, I don't know if they really are welsh harlequins. They're wet still and it makes the feathers look dark the person I got them from thought they were harliquin eggs but She has other breeds like khaki Campbells indian runners and maybe pekins I am going right now to take of the babies!

OH. MY. GOODNESS.

WOULD YOU JUST LOOK AT THAT?!?!?!

The tiny little precious baby duck-bill ❤

They do look a little silly while wet but they will dry off and fluff up soon. (S)he doesn't look dead... just exhausted from all that tough work.

So it was almost 24H from the first pip to hatch for them?

I cant wait to see more pics of them after they've rested a while!!!
