Keep that area clean as you can and hopefully it will continue to heal. Such a precious baby and your mama and other ducklings are gorgeous. Never have any of my Runners acted like they wanted to brood, Until this morning one of my 5 yr olds I thought was laying turned outside was just sitting on 2 eggs. No telling if she would have gone all the way I have enough ducks, chickens and geese now but I was sure tempted.

I was surprised she went broody, as I have read they are not typically a broody breed. She is good mama, although of all my ducks she is the least tame- she really doesn’t like us at all.
As for my baby, the more I look the more I’m concerned this could be an intestinal prolapse or hernia. I’ve taken a crash course in duck/egg anatomy. I’m super worried. My mom who has been duck sitting is frantic
I wonder if she is not eating instinctively because she has an issue? Also would she continue to poop like she is? I do hear tummy sounds… ugh
