Duckling hatched yesterday...what is normal??

Hello. If it's hiding in the corner it's too warm. Only heat half the Brooder and hang a mirror also give it a teddy.
I use a 175 watt red livestock bulb.

Okay. The thermometer in the brooder only says about 88 degrees. I thought it should be 90-95 for the first week, but I will lift the bulb since he's acting too warm

It could be hiding in the corner because its scared too. Do you know the temp in your brooder?
Sounds like you have everything going good for it. Just hope some sibs hatch :fl
Ok. Yes it definitely seemed scared. It's walking around more now. The temp in the brooder is about 88, so I'm not sure why it would be too warm. I was actually trying to get the temp higher.
I hope so too! Any suggestions on how to encourage more hatching? The humidity in the incubator is 83% now

I think the others have covered the current duckling, not much for me to add. I agree, go by their reactions to the temperature and adjust to the duckling's comfort level.

Did you candle the eggs along the way? If today is day 28 you should probably at least see some pips by now. What temperature and humidity did you run through the first 25 days? Anywhere from 65-75% humidity should be fine for the final days. If it were me, and there were no pips at this point, I'd candle them all and see what's going on.
