I noticed a couple days ago that my 6 Pekin ducklings were sneezing. It wasn't constant, and there was no discharge or any other syptoms, so I figured they were fine. Today, my biggest duckling's breathing is very loud. It isn't necessarily wheezing, but it sounds like he is breathing heavily, like you can hear each breath coming from his nostrils. He is the only one I am noticing this behavior in. What could be the matter?

I was kind of wondering about the dry nostrils - long story short this one duck who is breathing hard got moved to a different pen to be with a hurt buddy and the waterer isn't as deep, so he probably can't rinse his nostrils. I will fix that first to see if that helps.

Ok, that's the best way to figure things out, changing one thing at a time, hoping that is the issue and not something serious :) update when you can please

Sorry I forgot to update!! One nasal rinse later, he is back to breathing normally. He got to swim for the first time today and he spent half his time underwater swimming in circles. :p He is one happy ducky!!
